The Department of Special Education at Aksaray University Faculty of Education aims to educate qualified teachers who adopt contemporary and inclusive approaches grounded in scientific principles in the education of individuals with special needs. The department seeks to contribute to equality of opportunity in education by preparing educators who support individuals with special needs in developing independent living skills and participating actively and productively in society.Educational activities in the department are carried out within a framework that integrates theoretical knowledge with practical experience, promotes scientific thinking, and emphasizes ethical values. Teacher candidates gain not only knowledge of contemporary teaching methods for educating individuals with special needs but also develop a perspective that recognizes individual differences and embraces inclusive education.The Department of Special Education also contributes to the field through research and community engagement activities. Faculty members collaborate with individuals with special needs, their families, schools, public institutions, and non-governmental organizations to advance knowledge and practice in special education. Within this scope, the department conducts scientific research, participates in national and international academic events, and provides guidance and consultancy services for educators, teacher candidates, and families working in the field.Through its integrated approach to education, research, and community engagement, the Department of Special Education at Aksaray University aims to contribute to improving the quality of life of individuals with special needs, supporting their families, and strengthening an inclusive society.
